Dia De los Muertos, Pátzcuaro

The festivities have started and Patzcuaro is bustling with thousands of people. The Plaza Vasco de Quiroga has been transformed into a giant market. Merchants and artists from all over the region had poured in with their goods. It is a treasure hunter’s paradise.

There is an area that I particularly like. Portugal street in the centre of town  is now occupied by hippies who brought in their handmade merchandise. You can find anything from jewelry to old watches to artistic ‘junks’. It’s quite an interesting way to spend some time wandering up and down the street checking out the displays.

I will try to post images daily during this week in Michoacan visiting different sites. Please do visit the gallery here for the updates.
