One of my Dia de los Muertos images came in 6th on DP Review’s ‘Mexico Challenge‘.
The image was taken last November during the Day of the Dead festival in a small village in Arocutin, Mexico. It was technically challenging taking these shots in the middle of the night where the only illumination was coming from the candles. Trying to keep the ISO low and a decent depth of field were my priorities. I was quite happy with the results at the end.
This image will be part of a series of photographs I am showing at next month’s CONTACT Photography Festival at the Rivoli Lounge in Toronto.
