About this series: Northern Roots, Urban Playground

Ottawa is home to the largest urban inuit population in canada. Giving community members a place to come together, the Ottawa Inuit Children’s Centre (OICC) shares and celebrates their heritage while fostering cultural values in a new generation.

Stephanie Foden shot extensively at the OICC in the spring of 2011. The series won second place at the photophilanthropy activist awards and was previously exhibited at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
