Urban Fragments

My work as a photographer records the fascination I have with urban decay. By documenting the corrosive nature of time through the lens I pay tribute to the fragmentation of old relics often left to rot until demolition takes history away. Capturing the alien world of urban terrain is a dominating theme of my work. The falling away of surfaces often reveals the underlying bone structure of architecture. Organic shapes of debris, the prevailing order of lines and patterns amid seeming chaos, hyper-surrealistic colours, all create a paradox of strength in the face of destruction. Captivated by details of architecture left to morph in the elements of nature, my photographs give life to the urban creatures inhabiting these environments.

This series was exhibited at The Rivoli Lounge in Toronto in 2009.
